2011-02-19 Eating!

February was a busy month with many eating activities, despite of the unexpected spring cold and windchill.

The first one was the pre-celebration of Valentine's Day on Feb 12, 2011.  Great dishes were prepared at home.  First it was a pot of wine-marinated mussel:

Followed closely was another seafood:

We also had home-made BBQ pork:

Most importantly we had different kinds of vegetables:

One my my favorites is eggplant:

How can we complete a dinner without chicken?!

Another pre-celebration of Valentine's Day was taken place on Feb 13, 2011.  I had a special treat with my valentines.   We went to an Irish Pub next to Chinook mall.  To begin with, we ordered fish & chips:

The fries were thick and chunky:

Next, we had a deep dish pizza which is called "All Nighters".  I should have asked them to remove the spicy jalapeno poppers as they were HOT:

We pre-celebrated Family Day on Feb 19, 2011 at T-Pot China Bistro.  We ordered many dishes and so it was a true festival.  To begin with, they gave us some pickled vegetable and to-fu:

Next, we had wasabi and sesame seed chicken.   This tastes much like Japanese styled tempura:

Then, we had my love - cheese and creamy lobster on Chinese noodle:

Another seafood was shrimps on vermicelli noodle:

It may not look like a seafood dish but it is!  The dish also has pan fired vegetable overlay with XO sauce:

A highlight of the party was a big pot of lamb with chinese cheese:

More vegetable the better!

Another vegetable dish with dry scallop and soup:

After we got home, we enjoyed a firework at our back yard.  How beautiful!!  Expect the unexpected...
